Arkipelag — Järva Begravningsplats

An open architectural competition for a new cemetery on Järvafältet. Our proposal is a stylised archipelago. The sea is the open park landscape; the islands are the secluded, circular burial grounds. The form gives each burial quarter its own enclosed space while leaving the field’s great landscape room unbroken, so the visitor moves between seclusion and openness.
