The building receives ash from the KVV8 combined heat and power plant — an unloading hall that trains and lorries drive straight through.

Like the other buildings in the harbour, this one takes part in the process that produces heat and power at the KVV8 plant. Ash from the boiler arrives here via conveyor galleries and an elevator in a screening and crushing house. The residue is collected by train or lorry, driving through the building and the unloading hall. The roller doors have been made extra tall to underline the movement through the building. The heavy structure in the tall section carries the same orange colour as the interior of the train-unloading building and the recess of the screening and crushing house. The steel can be glimpsed behind large channel-glass openings on the long sides. Towards the water there is a lower side building for support functions such as storage and compressors.
