Filterhus i Rinkebyskogen
An esker was the formal inspiration for this technical building set in Rinkebyskogen – a nature reserve and popular recreation and outdoor area in Danderyd.
An esker was the formal inspiration for this technical building set in Rinkebyskogen – a nature reserve and popular recreation and outdoor area in Danderyd. The building serves as an enclosure for a filter facility that removes bad odours from a sewage pipe leading to Käppalaförbundet's treatment plant. The building had to blend into the landscape, as well as being virtually maintenance-free and graffiti-proof. We proposed cladding the sides of the simple steel structure with a gabion system – steel cages filled with stones. The roof, clad in sedum, becomes an extension of the surrounding meadow.
