Together with the Spanish architecture firm SelgasCano, Urban Design won the invited competition for Tekniska Nämndhuset, Söderstaden, with the proposal Drivhus. Land Arkitektur and Sweco also took part in the project. The building, with its 1800 workplaces, was to be a meeting place for civil servants, politicians and the public. The site was to be developed into a bustling district with housing, shops and culture, along with a new nature park in the middle of a formerly paved-over and enclosed events area. The greenery creeps in beneath the building's skin, within a greenhouse shell that forms an important part of the building's energy and air systems.
